How it works

A short, honest guide to what the verdict means and what weather factors we use.

Plain English

You’re not asking “what’s the weather?” — you’re asking “will I waste my time washing the car right now?”

1) Rain risk (the big one)

If rain is falling now (or a shower is very likely soon), the verdict will steer you away — not because the car can’t get wet, but because you can’t reliably rinse and dry to a clean finish.

2) Drying conditions

Wind and humidity control how quickly water clears from panels. That affects streaks, drips, and water spots. A mild breezy day can be perfect; a still muggy day can be frustrating.

3) Temperature and “too cold” edge cases

Near freezing, water can refreeze in door shuts and seals. The verdict becomes conservative when conditions are close to 0°C and windy.

Data source

Forecasts come from Open-Meteo. We do not run a weather model ourselves; we translate hourly forecast fields into a simple decision.

What we are not

  • We can’t see your driveway shade, nearby trees, or whether your hose pressure is tragic.
  • We can’t predict every shower. If the sky looks wrong, trust your eyes.
  • We don’t promise “spot-free” — we just help you pick a better window.
