Privacy + terms
Plain-English info about what we collect, what we do with it, and the basic terms for using the site and app.

Privacy
We use your location to fetch a weather forecast and calculate your laundry score. We do not ask for your name. We do not run user accounts. We do not sell your personal data. In short: we know as little about you as we can.
Location
You type a place (or use "my location") so we can look up a forecast. We use that to show results, then we move on.
When you search, we send the coordinates to our forecast provider to fetch weather data. We do not store a history of where you searched on our servers.
Saved place (website)
If you tap "Save place", your browser keeps that on your device so the site can open straight to your home forecast next time. We do not receive that saved place as a user profile on our servers.
Saved places and reminders (Android app)
Your saved places and most reminder settings live on your phone. Uninstalling the app clears them.
Optional background alerts (Android app)
If you turn on background alerts in the app, we store a small record on our servers so we can send you a push notification when the weather for your home place looks worth flagging. That record can include: your push token (via Expo), your device type, the home place you already saved in the app (label and coordinates), which alert types you switched on, and when it was last updated.
We use that only to send the alerts you asked for. Our systems fetch a public weather forecast for those coordinates (we do not build a location history or track you around town). We do not sell this data. Turn the toggles off in Alerts, or uninstall the app, to stop new server-side registrations; you can also email us if you want a manual delete.
Analytics
We may collect simple, anonymous usage stats so we can fix bugs and improve the product. These events are not meant to identify you.
On the website, if you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics (GA4) to understand traffic and basic interactions (for example page views and feature usage). If you choose Reject analytics, we do not load those scripts.
The Android app may send coarse usage signals (for example: which screen you opened and the app build version). We do not include your place name, postcode, or coordinates in those signals. We use PostHog as a processor to store and view these events.
Your choices
You are in control. You can turn off location or notifications in your device settings. In the app, you can turn off background alerts under Alerts. You can clear the website's saved place by clearing site data in your browser.

Terms
We try hard to be accurate, but forecasts are not perfect. Use the guidance as a helpful nudge, not a guarantee. You are responsible for checking the sky, bringing washing in, and making the final call.
What this service is
We provide weather-based drying guidance for laundry on the web and in the Android app. It is information, not advice.
No promises
We do not promise your washing will dry, or that it will not rain. Forecasts are probabilistic. Microclimates exist. Also: British weather.
Availability and changes
We may change, pause, or remove features at any time. We do this to improve reliability, safety, or product quality.
